Get ready to “Float On” with Modest Mouse as the indie rock band embarks on a special anniversary tour this year in honor of one of its most iconic projects.
Modest Mouse has announced the “Good News For People Who Love Bad News” 20th Anniversary Tour in honor of the band’s 2004 album “Good News For People Who Love Bad News.”
The tour will start on Oct. 28 in Honolulu, Hawaii and end in early November with three nights at New York City’s Brooklyn Steel.
In between these dates, Modest Mouse will perform at MGM Music Hall in Boston on Nov. 19. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, Aug. 23 at 10 a.m. local time.
Labeled by The New York Times as “the best Modest Mouse album,” “Good News for People Who Love Bad News” is hailed as an alternative classic.
The album has received “universal acclaim” from music critics according to Metacritic, which gave the project a rating of 83 out of 100.
“Good News for People Who Love Bad News” has been certified double platinum by the RIAA and spawned the five-time platinum-selling hit “Float On” as well as the gold-selling singles “The World At Large,” and “Ocean Breathes Salty.”
“Good News for People Who Love Bad News” was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2004.
An expanded digital version of the album, called “Good News For People Who Love Bad News: 20th Anniversary Expanded Edition,” was released earlier this year featuring eight bonus tracks.
The album was also released and remastered for vinyl in opaque baby pink and opaque spring green. The package includes an alternate album cover, an 8-page booklet, and five of the new remixes.
