SOUTHWICK — During the Planning Board’s meeting Tuesday, the DPW was granted a permit to remove 189 trees on Ed Holcomb Road to start the town’s most expensive road-improvement project.
“This will give us a good start on the drainage work that needs to be done,” DPW Director Randy Brown said about removing the trees mostly along the east side of the road.
Describing the road as “deteriorating,” Brown said removing the trees was the first step before drainage can be installed along its .8-mile stretch.
