The earliest kickoff in the state gets things going on Thanksgiving morning at 9 a.m. in Belchertown.
The Orioles (6-4) won two of their final three games down the stretch, while Pathfinder (5-6) reached the state vocational semifinals before falling to Cape Cod Tech last week.
The Pioneers won the regular season meeting on Oct. 24 (40-25).

Walpole comes into the game following a loss in the Division IV state quarterfinals and with a record of 5-5. Weymouth comes into the game with a record of 6-3 and following a loss to Natick in the first round of the Division I tournament. Walpole won last year’s matchup 35-12.

With Xaverian and St. John’s Prep playing each other in the Div. I state championship the following week, this year’s Thanksgiving matchup will be even more interesting than usual.
Xaverian comes into the game following a semifinal win over Springfield Central, while the Eagles are coming off a blowout semifinal win over Central Catholic.

Catholic Memorial comes into this week following a win over Winchester in the Div. II state semifinals. BC High is 2-6 on the year and closed out its regular season on Halloween with a shutout loss to Saint John’s.

Longmeadow vs. East Longmeadow
The Lancers (6-4) and Spartans (4-6) meet for the 64th time on Thanksgiving, and the second time this season after Longmeadow took the regular season meeting on Oct. 3, 21-17.
Longmeadow has won two straight on Thanksgiving, including a nail-biting 7-6 victory a year ago. The schools have split the last 10 meetings in this series.

The Eagles (5-5) finally broke through last year, winning for the first time in nine tries during this Thanksgiving rivalry.
Northampton (2-8) had won the first eight in the series, which dates back to 2015. The Blue Devils previously played Amherst on Thanksgiving, while Easthampton used to play Dean Tech of Holyoke.
Both teams enter looking to rebound after tough ends to the regular season. Northampton has lost three games in a row while Easthampton has dropped three of its last four.

Smith Vocational vs. Franklin Tech
The newest Thanksgiving matchup in WMass renews for the seventh meeting on Thursday in Turners Falls.
The host Eagles (7-3) hold the 4-2 edge, though the Vikings (4-6) held serve at home last year for a 16-8 victory.
Both teams reached the state vocational small school playoffs, falling in the quarterfinals.

The oldest Thanksgiving rivalry in WMass kicks off at O’Brien Field in Athol, where the host Bears (1-9) and visiting Senators (2-8) are looking to end their seasons with a win.
Athol has won two in a row on Turkey Day, and the Bears also picked up their lone regular season victory this fall with a 28-8 win over Mahar on Oct. 3.
This series dates all the way back to 1894.

South Hadley vs. Holyoke
The Purple Knights (3-7) welcome the Tigers (4-6) for the eighth Thanksgiving meeting between the two neighboring foes at the Roberts Complex in Holyoke. Holyoke previously played Chicopee and South Hadley used to play Chicopee Comp on Turkey Day.
South Hadley has won all but one of the seven previous meetings, with the Purple Knights capturing a 2021 victory. The Tigers have won three in a row, including last year’s 16-14 win.
Now league-mates, South Hadley won the regular season meeting between the two teams, 48-7.

The Lions (3-7) have won three in a row in this series, including last year’s 12-6 victory.
Palmer (5-5) has played well down the stretch, capturing wins in three of its final four games entering Thursday. This series dates back to 1947.

The Colts (8-2) have never lost to the Pacers (6-4) on Thanksgiving, as the annual Sword Game returns to Szot Park in Chicopee.
Comp has won the past two matchups in dominant, shutout fashion, including last year’s 52-0 rout. The Colts ripped through the regular season with an 8-0 record, earning a spot in the MIAA Division III state playoffs before falling to King Philip in the first round.
The Pacers have played their best down the stretch, winning four of their final five games entering Thanksgiving.
