The makers of Johnsonville meats are recalling about 35,430 pounds of turkey kielbasa sausage that may contain rubber after customers contacted the company saying they found pieces of rubber in their kielbasa.
Salm Partners, LLC, of Denmark, Wis., issued the recall, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced late last week.
The kielbasa sausages were made between Oct. 30-31, 2023. The products under recall, some of which the inspection service believes have already been bought by customers, are 12-oz. vacuum packed pacakges containing a singlie piece of “Johnsonville POLISH KIELBASA TURKEY” sausage with best by dates of 05/17/24 and 05/18/24.
The products also have the establishment number of “P-32009,″ according to the inspection service.
While there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions of injury related to this product, the inspection service did say customers contacted Salm Partners saying they found rubber in kielbasa that they had purchased.
The inspection service is concerned that some of the sausage has already made its way into people’s refrigerators.
“Customers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the inspection service said in its recall announcement. “These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”
Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider.
