Chris Clark, who grew up in Westfield, studies the effects of per- and polyfluorinated substances, known as PFAS, on the heart.
“I want hope,” said Clark, a research specialist associate at the University of Michigan. “Because day in and day out, this job is sad if I’m just thinking about poisoning all the time.”
