
A person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot on Boston Common Monday night and police have taken a suspect into custody, officials said.
The shooting took place around 10:07 p.m. Monday near Tremont and Winter streets, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, a spokesman for Boston police, told MassLive. Officers took a person into custody who was seen leaving the area and had “discarded” a gun, he said.
Officers found a person had been shot, and they were taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Boyle. Boston police homicide detectives also responded to the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation, Boyle said.
