Community Bank has promoted Gilbert Nieves, of Springfield, to district manager. Nieves will oversee strategy and operations for branches in Vermont and Massachusetts. He’ll also be responsible for staff training, coaching and professional development.

With more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, Nieves first joined Community Bank in 2019 as branch manager of the Springfield location. He previously served the community in other banking and financial roles, including vice president and branch manager at Webster Bank and assistant city treasurer for the city of Springfield.

Nieves is an active member of his congregation and community as a Bible instructor and volunteer at Springfield Public Schools. He facilitates financial literacy workshops at the Gandara Center, as well as first-time home buying seminars at Wayfinders. He is also a member of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and Business Network International’s Springfield chapter.

Nieves holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Universidad Metropolitana in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

American International College has appointed Eunice Bragg as vice president for institutional advancement.

Bragg will oversee fundraising and stewardship relationship initiatives and will be responsible for strengthening engagement with AIC alumni and community partners. She will play a role in the campaign to restore Courniotes Hall, the health sciences building damaged by fire last summer after a lightning strike.

After completing her master of science degree in strategic fundraising and philanthropy at Bay Path University, Bragg served as director of development at The Discovery Center (now Re-Center) in Hartford. She then assumed the role of director of annual giving at Hampden Hall Country Day School in New Haven, Connecticut. Returning to her alma mater, she became director of major and planned gifts at Bay Path.

Bragg joins AIC from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she most recently served as director of development and leadership gifts. Before earning her Master of Science degree, Bragg earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University.

Bragg is a longtime resident of the Springfield area with roots in the community as a former business owner and high school educator.

Fontaine Bros. in Springfield announces the addition of Jason Boudreau, as project executive, and Mark Fulton, senior superintendent, to the team. They bring more than 40 years of combined experience working together on building projects throughout Western and Central Massachusetts, Connecticut and beyond.

Boudreau and Fulton have been working together for more than 20 years. The pair has delivered work for clients such as Amherst College, Baystate Medical Center, Berkshire Medical Center, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Williams College and many others. They hold certifications by the American Society for Health Care Engineering and the International Code Council for Tall Mass Timber Buildings.

Molly C. Watson has been named director of communications and public relations at Western New England University.

She joins the university from Chicago-based Ritz Communications where she has provided counsel to clients including Merck, Altera (formerly Allscripts), Merative (formerly IBM Watson), the MPN Research Foundation and the Tug McGraw Foundation.

Locally, she has served in a variety of communications roles supporting Western Massachusetts-based organizations including Westfield State University, Baystate Noble, the Amelia Park Children’s Museum among others.

Watson is a graduate of Wells College. She resides in Westfield.
