Benjamin Weil has been appointed as the interim director of the city of Northampton’s Climate Action and Project Administration. Weil succeeds Carole Collins, who has decided to return to her position with the city of Greenfield as its energy and sustainability director.
Currently a faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Weil has led projects focused on reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint in buildings and often consults on Northampton projects. He has served on the Northampton Energy and Sustainability Commission since January 2018. He will begin his interim position at the end of May and continue through August.
