A pedestrian was killed when they were hit by a motor vehicle in Roxbury Wednesday morning, Boston Police said.
At around 5:42 a.m. Wednesday, Boston police officers went to Malcolm X Boulevard and Tremont Street in Roxbury for a report of a person struck by a motor vehicle, Sgt. Detective John Boyle, the department’s chief spokesman, wrote in an email. The person was pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives are investigating the crash along with officers from the Fatal Collision Team.
“This incident will have a major impact on the morning commute today,” Boyle said, adding the department is asking residents to seek alternate routes.
