A pedestrian was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after they were hit by a truck, Boston police said Thursday.
The crash occurred in the area of Essex Street and Atlantic Avenue, which is near South Station. Boston police investigators were at the scene, and the department urged commuters to seek an alternate route.
The department posted about the crash on X, formerly Twitter, at 7:44 a.m. Thursday.
The Thursday morning crash marks the third time a pedestrian has been seriously hurt in the city in recent weeks, following the death of 4-year-old Gracie Gancheva in the Seaport and Fernando R. Pizarro, a 57-year-old wheelchair user, in South Boston.
