Pedestrian flown to Boston hospital after being hit by car in Mass.

A pedestrian was flown to a Boston hospital after being hit by a car in Norwood Tuesday night, police said.

The crash happened at Nahantan Street and Maple Street, police wrote in a Facebook post around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. The driver of the car remained in the area after the crash and was released by police.

The pedestrian was flown to a Boston hospital by a medical helicopter.

Nahantan Street between Nichols Street and Washington Street may be shut down for a “period of time,” police said.

“Please keep the victim and his family in your prayers during this difficult time,” the post reads.
