Patriots recreate popular Boston movie for schedule release

The Patriots released their 2024 schedule Wednesday night, and made sure to pay homage to an iconic Boston movie. New England made its own spinoff of the popular 1997 film “Good Will Hunting” which featured Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman who mirrored Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s characters, respectively, in “Good Jules Hunting.”

Coach Jerod Mayo began the video with a formula on the white board, in which he told those in front of him it will help them predict their schedule — something they’ve been working on for two years. Edelman appears and begins to fill out the schedule little by little before the schedule in its entirety is slipped under Ernie Adams’ — who was reprising the late Robin Williams’ role — door.

Team owner Robert Kraft also makes an appearance.

The video ends with it cutting to a black SUV speeding into the Gillette Stadium parking lot before it made an abrupt stop next to a police officer. However, those in the car are dressed in “The Town” costumes — another popular movie set in Boston.

The police officer looks at them before saying, “Wrong movie, guys.”

The Patriots open their 2024 slate Sept. 8 on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals. They have no Sunday or Monday Night Football games, but will travel to London in Week 7 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, and play the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football in Week 3.
