Patriots hold No. 1 pick in draft after Drew Lock leads Giants to win

The Patriots got a win on their day off when they moved into the top spot for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Going into Sunday’s slate of games, the New York Giants held the No. 1 pick with New England at No. 2 after its embarassing loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. But a strong performance from quarterback Drew Lock that included four touchdowns helped lift the Giants to a 45-33 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The Patriots and the Giants are both 3-13 after this weekend’s results, and New York has now fallen to fourth in the draft order.

New England has one game remaining in its 2024 season against the Buffalo Bills. Should the Patriots lose, they’ll secure the No. 1 pick.

With the AFC East already locked up, it’s possible the Bills rest their starters in Week 18.
