SOUTHWICK – In a vote of 3-2, the Parks and Recreation Commission approved applying to the town’s Community Preservation Committee for an allocation of $670,000 to build six pickleball courts at Whalley Park.
“I would really like to vote on it tonight so we can present it next week [to the CPC],” Commissioners John Whalley III said during the commission’s meeting last week.
Whalley was responding to Commissioner David DeiDolori’s concerns about the estimated cost to build the courts and him asking for more time to look at the proposal before voting.
