NORTHAMPTON — A crowd of 40 to 50 people commemorated the second anniversary of the Supreme Court Dobbs decision ending universal access to abortion in the United States with a demonstration in front of City Hall in Northampton. Women and men, including a group called “The Raging Grannies,” rallied to call for legislation to reassert a woman’s right to personal decision-making in her health care.
Organized by Indivisible Northampton-Swing Left Western Mass, demonstrators decried the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Center decision released formally on June 24, 2022. The decision had been leaked to a news organization a month earlier.
