A nor’easter that doused Massachusetts in rain is expected to move offshore to the Gulf of Maine on Friday, but its impacts will likely be felt throughout the day with scattered showers.
Some parts of the Bay State will see moderate to heavy rain in the early morning hours Friday, but the precipitation is expected to taper off as the day goes on. A second round of showers is expected to roll through later in the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will be “slightly more dynamic” than they were on Thursday, climbing up to the high 50s this afternoon, National Weather Service forecasters wrote.
The spotty showers are expected to linger through early Saturday morning, but with little accumulation. Conditions will dry out in the late afternoon or evening Saturday.
A stretch of drier weather settles in just in time for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, with temperatures climbing slowly. Still, temperatures should get above 70 by the holiday, forecasters wrote. The dry conditions will continue into Tuesday, the “warmest day in a while.”
But the dry conditions won’t last, with another round of rain likely heading for New England mid-week.
