WESTFIELD – The Westfield High School girls soccer team beat Longmeadow 2-1 in the regular season opener. A September 27 rematch resulted in a 1-1 tie between the two teams. So, it should come as no surprise to anyone that the third meeting went the way of the Lancers.
No. 6 Longmeadow survived a knock-down-drag out battle against second-seeded Westfield in the Western Massachusetts Class A girls soccer semifinals Wednesday night at Bullens Field.
