SOUTHWICK – Southwick senior pitcher Ted Dunn shut down Oxford’s top four hitters over the first four innings of a state tournament opener, recording three strikeouts in eight of those at-bats. Unfortunately for Dunn and the Rams, the bottom of the Pirates order pushed four runs across over the first four innings, paving the way to a convincing shutout victory.
Oxford pitcher Connor Fantasia scattered five hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out three batters en route to a 6-0 win over No. 16 Southwick Regional in the Division 4 baseball Round of 32 state tournament game Friday night at Whalley Park.
