No. 14 Frontier boys soccer beats No. 3 Pittsfield after PKs in Div. IV state tournament

PITTSFIELD ― With his team needing just one moment of brilliance, Jack Cussone stepped to the line and delivered in the clutch – just as the freshman goalkeeper has all season long for the Red Hawks.

“The plan was always for Jack (Cussone) to step in next year, Owen Babb was supposed to be our senior captain,” Frontier boys soccer coach Evan Horton said after Saturday‘s match. “He’s playing for Deerfield Academy. We lost our starting center midfielder captain, (Chanmin Son), we have 10 new starters this season and one of them is Jack (Cussone) as a freshman, saying ’We need you to step up and play the role now‘ – and he‘s come up big for us every time he’s had to.
