LUDLOW – Friday night’s Western Massachusetts Class B championship marked the fourth consecutive postseason that the No. 1 Belchertown girls’ soccer team and No. 2 South Hadley were scheduled to compete against each other.
Three of the last five regional championships have also been decided between these clubs. Though it was already Halloween, those in attendance earned a treat as the Orioles were rewarded a penalty-kick opportunity during the opening nine minutes of regulation.
