The Patriots’ decision to move on from Nick Folk in favor of rookie Chad Ryland hasn’t quite panned out the they hoped. Folk, who was traded to the Titans prior to the start of the season, made a 53-yard field goal in Tennessee’s Week 12 win over the Carolina Panthers.
Ryland, who the Patriots drafted this year, missed the game-tying 35-yarder in New England’s 10-7 loss to the New York Giants. The kicker is 12-of-18 on field goals, while Folk is 22-of-23.
“Chad’s a very talented player, but this is two weeks in a row we’ve basically missed extra points,” Bill Belichick said during his appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Monday. “So it’s not good enough.”
Belichick also didn’t rule out bringing in another kicker.
