WORCESTER — On Tuesday, No. 7 Springfield Central threw pressure at No. 3 Newton North during the fourth quarter, unlike anything the Tigers had seen up to that point this winter.
The Golden Eagles trailed in the Division I boys basketball state semifinals by as much as 13 points at the start of the frame. But a full-court press, led by JP Martinez, traps at mid-court, steals, and fast-break points turned the tide in favor of Springfield Central.
