It wasn’t clear what sparked the issues between them, but off of a faceoff 3:15 into the first period, both immediately dropped the gloves. Kastelic got his right hand free first and went to work.

Kastelic threw 15 punches, all with his right hand, almost all of them hooks. He landed over half of them. Schenn didn’t throw a punch let alone land one. He simply tried to hang on before eventually losing his footing.

Some of Kastelic’s shots hit Schenn’s helmet and shield. After spending his 5-minutes in the box, He went to the locker room for the rest of the period before returning for the second.

It was a decidedly different result than his first fight with A.J. Greer in the season opener when he never got set.

Kastelic is in his first season with the Bruins. He was an unheralded part of the Linus Ullmark trade, but he’s thrived so far.
