An estimated $1.3 million in losses was collectively reported by 50 restaurants, bars and other businesses on Nantucket during the island’s 50th annual Christmas Stroll weekend after a mass power outage crippled the downtown sect.
The deficits on the island’s two busiest days of the year were announced in a Select Board meeting on Wednesday night. Officials from National Grid virtually attended the meeting on Zoom to explain what happened and discuss future steps.
