N.J. man ID’d as victim of Monday night shooting in Dorchester

Boston Police on Tuesday identified a man shot and killed in Dorchester late Monday night as a 37-year-old resident of Bayonne, New Jersey.

Keith Cousin was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 10:24 p.m. Monday at 114 Devon St. in Dorchester. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Boston Police said in a statement.

Two people were arrested following the shooting Monday, but thus far, neither is charged with killing Cousin.

Darius Powell, 25, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, and Daiquan Miller, 25, of Dorchester, were arrested and charged with unlawful firearm possession and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, police said.

Powell and Miller were spotted leaving an alley by the back of the Lila Frederick School, near the shooting site. A foot chase ensued after officers got out of their cruiser to speak with the men and they ran, police said. The men were eventually detained.

After searching where Powell and Miller had been spotted and where they ran, officers found two guns, police said.

Police have not said if the charges against Powell and Miller are tied to the fatal shooting.
