Mount Holyoke College hosts literacy study at Dr. Seuss’ boyhood home

SPRINGFIELD — Dr. Seuss’ books delight children with their whimsical rhymes, fantastic creatures — and simple short words.

Now, young readers are being invited inside Ted Geisel’s boyhood home at 78 Fairfield St. to help researchers from Mount Holyoke College unlock what’s going on in their brains while reading from the pages of the famed author’s beloved character — “The Cat in the Hat.”
