WESTFIELD – Bookended by impassioned pleas from Kathi Bradford, president of Westfield Pride and Councilor Kristen Mello, a motion for a new more restrictive flag ordinance was voted down 10 to 3 by the City Council at its meeting on Jan. 16.
During public participation, Bradford said she was there to speak against a ban on flags in Westfield other than for veterans, local, state and federal governments on city property.
