Mother holds down fox after it attacked 4-year-old, police say

A New England mother held down a fox after it attacked her 4-year-old in New Hampshire, Hollis Chief of Police Brendan LaFlamme said.

On May 14 at around 3:30 p.m., a fox bit the 4-year-old on Truell Road in Hollis, New Hampshire. The child’s mother then held the fox down to prevent further injury to the child or other people nearby.

Police said the fox had obvious signs of illness and aggression. The animal was euthanized and tested for rabies. Testing for rabies requires the animal to be euthanized.
