Most residents attending informational meeting about borrowing to fund construction of town-owned fiberoptic network supported the project

SOUTHWICK — After a standing-room only crowd at Town Hall listened to the pros and cons of the town financing and building its own fiberoptic network, Select Board member Doug Moglin asked for a show of hands for those who would vote yes to authorizing the town to borrow at least $12 million to build it.

Over 115 arms shot up without hesitation. Two residents raised their hands indicating they wouldn’t.
