An important deadline came and went earlier this week for the Toronto Blue Jays: Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. failed to reach agreement on a contract extension before his self-imposed deadline that saw him cut off talks the day before the Jays’ first full squad workout.
Guerrero thus is headed to free agency after the upcoming season, insisting that he hasn’t ruled out remaining with the Blue Jays.
