MGM Springfield made some Wildest Dreams come true Friday as the casino hosted a Taylor Swift-themed event to commemorate the kick-off week of The Eras Tour movie.
Located at Commonwealth Bar and Lounge on the casino floor, the “Commonwealth Bejeweled” event Friday served as a way for Swifties to enjoy a night of themed cocktails, Swift karaoke, live music and some extra perks for MGM Rewards members — including a free showing to “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.”
“We took a group of MGM Rewards members to the Taylor Swift concert at Gillette back in May and we got such great feedback, they all absolutely loved it. She’s been killing it, so of course we wanted to have the movie here,” Marketing Partner at MGM Emma Jacque told MassLive.
MGM’s movie theatre — Regal — sold out two public showings, so MGM capitalized on the opportunity for rewards guests to be able to see the movie, too.
Friday night began at Commonwealth with rewards members claiming their goodie bags, which came with free tickets to the show, a free Eras Tour-themed popcorn and soda, MGM friendship bracelets and themed guitar picks.
Rewards members were then able to join the showing at 7 p.m.
The movie spans hours of performance time by the singer at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The film is broken up into Swift’s different eras in her music career, opening up with the Lover era, moving to Fearless, evermore, reputation, Speak Now, Red, folklore, 1989, the acoustic set and concluding with Midnights.
The film also gave an up-close look at Swift’s intricate stage and all its moving parts, high-energy dance numbers along with the backup vocals and band that ignite the sound of Swift’s songs.
During the movie, the bar and lounge was open to the general public for a night of Swift-themed cocktails, live music of Swift’s songs and screens cycling through the artist’s many music videos.

As the movie concluded, the bar and lounge hosted Swift-themed karaoke. Those who had the best performance from each era will win a commemorative plaque from when MGM brought guests to the Gillette show.
The effort from MGM staff to put on the event was a team effort, as many worked to make it up to par with The Eras Tour.
“We have a lot of Swifties on our team, so contributions from our beverage team, making specialty menus, marketing the event, making signage, putting together all the goodie bags, gift baskets and more, so it’s really a group effort,” Jacque said.
Regal will still hold the movie in its theaters going forward. Guests will be able to buy general showing tickets and can do so here.
