Mavericks are underdogs vs. Timberwolves in Game 5

The Minnesota Timberwolves lived to see another day when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 4 of the Western Conference Final to avoid the sweep. Minnesota will get another chance to keep its season alive with Game 5 on Thursday night.

The Timberwolves had a strong finish to Game 4. Anthony Edwards finished with a game-high 29 points, and Karl-Anthony Towns drained 20 of his 25 points in the second half to help propel Minnesota to victory.

They were also able to contain Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who combined for 44 points on 13-for-39 from the field.

The Mavericks still have the opportunity to close things out with a win, but will need to find a way to finish games the way they did in the first three matchups of the series.

The winner of the Western Conference Final will move on to face the Boston Celtics, who swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Final, in the NBA Finals beginning June 6.

Despite the Mavericks taking a 3-0 lead and losing by only five points in Tuesday’s game, several sportsbooks have Dallas as the underdog.
