A New Bedford firefighter leaves behind “a legacy of courage, kindness, and steadfast love,” his obituary reads.
Matthew E. Forand, 45, died from a medical emergency while on duty at the fire station on Aug. 15.
“Matt was known for his loud laugh, quick wit, and infectious smile. His spirit was a beacon to everyone who knew him,” the obituary read.
