A woman from Massachusetts won $1 million from a $5 lottery scratch ticket game.
Julia Da Rosa, of New Bedford, won $1 million from the “$1,000,000 Ultimate 7″ scratch ticket game. The game was released on Sept. 10, 2024.
Da Rosa chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. She told the lottery she plans on buying a house with her prize.
Da Rosa bought her winning ticket at Petro Mart 2, which is located at 258 Orchard St. in Ned Bedford. The shop will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
