Mass. weather: Gusty winds have returned Monday morning. Here’s when they’ll cease.

After a brief respite on Sunday, gusty winds are back in Massachusetts and affecting most communities across the state. Bay Staters will need to be cautious all day Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service has issued a wind advisory for the entire state beginning at 8 a.m. Monday and lasting until 1 a.m. Tuesday. During this time, northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph could blow around unsecured outdoor objects and tree limbs, causing a few power outages.

The weather service expects these strong winds to keep their intensity throughout the day. It is predicting gusts between 45 and 50 mph in most cities in Massachusetts at both noon and 6 p.m. on Monday.

These gusty winds are expected to last even longer in Pittsfield and the Berkshires, which could keep experiencing them through midnight Monday night. This area is also under a winter weather advisory until noon on Monday and could see up to 2 inches of snow.

Commuters in this area should plan on dealing with slippery road conditions Monday morning, according to the weather service. Drivers should travel slowly and cautiously.

The high Monday is expected to reach the low to mid 40s in most areas of Massachusetts amid partly to mostly cloudy skies, according to the weather service. Overnight lows are predicted to drop into the lower 30s Monday night.

Temperatures will begin this week’s climb on Tuesday and increase steadily until Thursday, which is expected to bring highs in the low 60s, the weather service said. Overnight lows are predicted to increase accordingly each night, reaching lows in the mid 40s by Thursday night.

Skies on Tuesday are expected to be clear, while Wednesday and Thursday are predicted to bring more clouds, according to the weather service. Most of Massachusetts can expect to see rain return on Friday amid highs in the upper 50s.
