A Cape Cod man who was previously convicted of sexually assaulting a child has pleaded guilty to having over 300 child sexual abuse images on his phone, according to the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Harwich resident Jonathan Fleischmann, 35, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in federal court last Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney’s office said in a press release. He was arrested and charged on May 2023 and remains in federal custody.
Authorities began investigating the case after Fleischmann’s coworkers reported noticing his cellphone downloading what they suspected were child sexual abuse images in March 2023, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. The coworkers spotted the suspected child pornography when he left his phone open and charging on a countertop in his workplace.
