Mass. man with gun drove moped toward officers, police say

A 25-year-old Dorchester man is facing numerous criminal charges after police say he drove his moped toward officers and violently resisted arrest.

Police on patrol near Washington Street and Columbia Road in Dorchester around 1:20 a.m. Thursday saw a moped scooter without a license plate speeding toward Erie Street. The two individuals on the moped did not have helmets on, had hoods over their heads and ski masks covering their faces, according to Boston police.

Officers saw the moped turn right onto Erie Street, then left, the wrong way, onto Greenwood Street. Police came to a stop near the intersection of Greenwood and Ellington streets, near a driveway the moped drove down.
