A Raynham man won the last $1 million prize in a $10 holiday-themed lottery game.
James Gilbert Doherty, of Bridgewater, won the sixth and final $1 million prize from “$2,500,000 Merry & Bright,” a $10 scratch ticket game.
Gilbert Doherty chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes when he claimed the winning ticket on Dec. 15. He told the lottery he plans to save his winnings.
He bought his winning ticket at Landy’s Market, located at 1417 Broadway in Raynham. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
