A Massachusetts man who won $1 million from a crossword-style scratch ticket game said he wants to give back to his family with the prize money, the Massachusetts State Lottery said.
Brian Wilson, from Dorchester, won $1 million in the lottery’s new version of its “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” scratch ticket game.
This version of the crossword-style game was released on June 27, and costs $10 per ticket to play.
When Wilson claimed his $1 million prize on July 24, he told lottery officials he was going to use the winnings to buy his dad a new truck and to do some work on his house, the lottery said.
Wilson bought his winning scratch ticket from a 7-Eleven shop in South Boston, at 566 Dorchester Ave, and the lottery said that store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
