A man was taken to a hospital after he was shot while sitting inside a car in Brockton late Monday night, according to police.
The shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. Monday near 44 Brook St. in Brockton, when someone inside a white truck driving on the street fired on a blue Nissan sedan. The man inside the sedan was shot and sought help from police and fire personnel nearby, Darren Duarte, a spokesman for the Brockton Police Department, said in an email to MassLive.
Investigators believe the car was the target of the shooting, Duarte said.
The man was taken to a hospital. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
The shooting came just hours after two men were stabbed in the south shore city, leaving one man dead and another in the hospital.
