Mass. man pulled out knife after being asked to leave bar, police say

A 44-year-old Boston man was arrested Sunday morning near a Dorchester bar after police say he took out a knife in a “threatening manner” after being escorted out of the bar.

Reginald Mells is facing a single charge of assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident, Boston Police said in a statement. He is expected to be arraigned in the Dorchester division of Boston Municipal Court.

Police went to 2261 Dorchester Ave., the address for The Bowery Bar in Dorchester, early Sunday morning after learning of a person with a knife in the area. Officers were given a description of the suspect and told he had walked away from the area.
