A 50-year-old Mansfield man who was killed when he attempted to make an abrupt U-turn on Route 1 in Wrentham was remembered in his obituary as a “generous man with a great sense of humor.”
Jose Ocasio was killed in the crash on Aug. 2, according to Massachusetts State Police.
Ocasio was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico and moved to the U.S. as a teenager. He later graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, Rhode Island and got a job working as a building engineer at Beale’s, according to his obituary.
An avid New York Yankees fan, Ocasio loved spending time with his family and was an “amazing father” to his son, CJ.
“Jose will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family,” the obituary reads, adding that he “honored his heritage.”
Calling hours for Ocasio were held on Aug. 9 at Foley Cook Hathaway Funeral Home in Attleboro.
