A Hyannis man was arrested on Tuesday after police say they traced a tip about a man distributing child sexual abuse materials to his home.
Joseph Madera, 65, is charged with possession of child pornography and dissemination of visual material of child in state of nudity, Barnstable Police said in a statement. He was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Wednesday and will return to court on Nov. 7.
On Tuesday, Barnstable Police detectives executed a search warrant at Madera’s Hyannis home, after State Police received a CyberTip with an address where a person was distributing child sexual abuse materials using a digital device, according to the statement. Police say they identified the person as Madera.
