Mass. lottery winner of $1M ‘Monopoly’ prize to buy property with winnings

A man from Massachusetts has played the lottery’s “Monopoly” game by the book and is hoping to buy some property with his $1 million prize.

Roger Duchane, of Gloucester, is the $1 million winner from the lottery’s “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” $10 scratch ticket game.

Duchane chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He said he might buy a new house with his winnings.

He bought his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven on 50 Gloucester Ave. in Gloucester. The shop will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
