Mass. has among the worst rates of wrongful convictions, according to data

SPRINGFIELD — Massachusetts ranks among the top 10 states for wrongful convictions, with inmates serving an average of 25 years behind bars before being exonerated, according to data.

The Bay State ranks ninth for wrongful convictions, according to statistics highlighted by the Omega Law Group of Beverly Hills, California, and based on data collected by the National Registry of Exonerations, a scholarly group.
