Mass. father to use $1 million lottery prize for his son’s education

A father from Massachusetts plans to look after his family after he won $1 million from the lottery.

Paul Hart, of Chelmsford, won $1 million from the “Celtics Banner 18″ scratch ticket game. This was the second $1 million prize to be claimed in the game, which was released on Nov. 19.

Hart chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He told the lottery he plans on using the winnings for his son’s education and home improvements.

The Chelmsford man bought his winning ticket at Corner Cupboard, located at 149 Gorham St. in his hometown. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Non-winning “Celtics Banner 18″ scratch tickets can be entered into second chance drawings for the chance to win a variety of Celtics experiences and merchandise prizes, including the opportunity to participate in another chance to win $1 million at a home game.
