Man upset over line-cutting returns with a knife, Boston police say

After a man believed that he was cut in line inside a Boston store. He left and later returned with a knife, the Boston Police Department said.

At about 6:45 p.m. on Monday, officials were called and told that a man had a knife at 3084 Washington St.

The man, later identified as Kavon Coston, 28, of Roxbury, believed he had been cut in line, police said. He left the store and later returned with the knife.

He then chased another man inside the store and eventually into the basement where the locked himself inside for safety, police said.

Officers stopped Coston in the area of Columbus Avenue towards the Boston Public Library. He was arrested and officers said they found the knife and 11 prescription pills.

He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for assault with a dangerous weapon and possession of Class E.
