Man rescued after getting stuck in marsh in Massachusetts

A man was rescued Monday afternoon after getting stuck in a marsh.

Around 1:27 p.m. officials got a report of someone who was stuck in a marsh in Bourne. Someone had called 911 after hearing someone shouting for help in the marsh, according to WCVB.

The 41-year-old man was on foot and was in a thick brush that was in an area “not typically travelled,” the Bourne Police Department wrote on Facebook.

The Bourne Fire Department cleared a path to him and was able to get him out of the brush, Bourne Fire Chief David S. Pelonzi told the Boston Globe.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said they were uncertain how long he was in the marsh but Pelonzi told the Globe it could’ve been for two days.
