A man was killed in a shooting in Springfield early Saturday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Nursery Street around 12:35 a.m. for a report of gunfire, a spokesperson for Springfield police wrote on social media. At the scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds, and he died there.
Homicide detectives and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the shooting, police said. Anyone with information about it is asked to call Springfield detectives at 413-787-6355 or text a tip anonymously by texting the word “SOLVE” to CRIMES (274637).
