Man killed by police killed woman in N.H., 8-year-old found shot in car on bridge

A man who was later fatally shot by police on a bridge between Maine and New Hampshire killed a woman at a New Hampshire home overnight and officials say an 8-year-old child was found fatally shot in his vehicle.

New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall said the incident began overnight when a man, who was not identified, killed a woman at a residence in Troy, New Hampshire. The man then drove to the Piscataqua River Bridge on Interstate 95 at the Portsmouth state line with Kittery, Maine.

Early Thursday morning, police “engaged” with the man on the bridge in an incident that ended with an officer fatally shooting him. The officer-involved shooting is under investigation by the Maine Attorney General’s office.
